Scholarships for a Masters in USA

As of the latest verification run, 40 active Master's scholarships are listed for the USA, including 15 that offer full funding (tuition and stipend combined), 6 stipend-only awards, and 17 partial awards (2 of those are tuition-only waivers). Every entry links to its own official university, government, or foundation source.

A few target Indian applicants directly - the Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowship (Indian citizens only, run through USIEF), the India-only Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship, the Rackham Indian Alumni Fellowship (University of Michigan, for graduates of an Indian undergraduate college), and the East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship, which explicitly lists India as an eligible South Asia country. Most of the remaining list is open to "all international" applicants, which includes Indians - use the "Open to Indian students" filter to confirm eligibility on any entry.

Rarely at the scholarship level - across this list only a handful, mostly law-school LL.M. awards and engineering society grants, state any test-score floor, and even those defer to the university's own admission bar. Most Master's scholarships here are awarded automatically alongside admission, so the practical requirement is whatever GRE, GMAT, TOEFL or IELTS score gets you into the program itself.

"Full funding" covers tuition plus a living stipend - common at research-heavy Master's programs and marquee fellowships like Knight-Hennessy. "Stipend" awards add cash on top of whatever the university already provides. "Partial" awards cover a portion of cost - often a percentage scholarship layered onto a law or policy degree. "Tuition" awards waive some or all tuition specifically but leave living costs, the majority of the mix here, to the student.

25 of the 40 listings carry a specific calendar deadline (shown in the table above) - often in the autumn or around January-February alongside Round 1 admissions - while the rest are assessed automatically at Master's admission or through university-internal nomination. The safest approach is to apply with your Master's application itself, well before the program's own admission deadline, and check the official source for the current cycle.
