Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long should I prepare for PTE Academic?

It depends on the gap between your current level and your target score. Take a full-length mock first. If you are within a few points of your target, a few weeks of section practice on your weakest tasks is often enough; a bigger gap needs longer. Re-test with a mock every week or two to check the plan is working.

2. Is PTE Academic harder than IELTS or TOEFL?

Not harder, but different. PTE is fully computer-delivered and AI-scored, including speaking, which you record into a microphone. Many tasks feed two skill scores at once, so the timing and scoring rules matter as much as your English. See TOEFL vs PTE vs Duolingo vs IELTS for a side-by-side comparison.

3. What is a good PTE score?

It depends on your university or visa route. Check the exact overall and per-skill minimums your institution publishes before you set a target. The PTE score calculator shows how PTE scores line up with IELTS bands and CEFR levels.

4. Can I prepare for PTE online?

Yes. Galvanize PTE preparation is fully online and self-paced: mocks, section tests and AI grading run in your browser, on a laptop or desktop with a headset and microphone.

5. What does the PTE Academic exam cost in India?

₹18,900, inclusive of taxes. Pearson can revise it without notice, so confirm on the official Pearson PTE site. For current discounts, see the PTE voucher code page.

6. Can I start for free?

Yes. The free plan includes a full-length mock and section tests in every part, so you can see your baseline before choosing a plan.
